The CPTA LB/SB District Nominating Committee has assembled the below slate of candidates for the November 2025 election. Terms for all elected positions will begin January 2026.

Darlene is excited to run for Chairperson for the Long Beach South Bay District. She has previously served as Chairperson from 2023-2025, Vice Chair from 2021-2023 and as a PT representative prior to that. She hopes to bring more events and continuing education for its members, and increased the district’s visibility for student, current, and prospective members.

Brian is hoping to seek re-election to the nominating committee for the Long Beach South Bay District. Having previously served on the committee from 2023–2025, he is eager to continue supporting the members of the district and give back to the community where he was born and raised. Through this role, Brian aims to strengthen connections with passionate and driven physical therapists, fostering collaboration, and leadership within the profession.

As a physical therapist and PhD student, Daniel is passionate about advancing evidence based practice and fostering collaboration among clinicians, researchers, and students. As Vice Chair, Daniel aims to strengthen engagement within the Long Beach district by creating opportunities for professional growth and community impact.

Kamryn Eldersma graduated from the DPT program at USC in 2025 and is currently doing the Biomechanics Fellowship at the Movement Performance Institute with Dr. Chris Powers. She has a strong background in sports and exercise, and is very excited to continue building on her career in this role!

From 2023–2025, Felicia served two terms as the student representative for the Long Beach/South Bay District of the California Physical Therapy Association. As a new grad PT, she hopes to continue along the journey as a PT representative for the district, to advocate for the growth and development of our profession, and for our patients to receive the best care possible.

Natalie Aston is a recent graduate of the Doctor of Physical Therapy program at California State University, Long Beach. She is currently advancing her clinical skills through the Neurological Physical Therapy residency at USC/Rancho Los Amigos National Rehabilitation Center. As a South Bay resident, Natalie is looking to serve the Long Beach/South Bay District as a representative, advocating for the physical therapy profession and supporting legislative efforts within the California Physical Therapy Association.

Dr. Fernebok completed her fellowship at the Movement Performance Institute in 2020. She continues to maintain a staff position at MPI where she mentors subsequent fellows and is annually a CI. In addition to her staff position at MPI, she owns a concierge home health PT company offering high-level orthopedic/sports physical therapy. She is an active member of the APTA Orthopedics Academy and looks forward to the potential of becoming a PT representative for the CPTA Long Beach South Bay District.
The number of PT Representatives to be allotted to the District cannot be determined until we have received the January 1, 2026 membership figures from the APTA.
